These areas are interlinked and yet separate. It is based on the idea that the Borromean rings present such a relationship between three entities. The logo defines it using three golden rectangles. Eight equilateral triangles made as a rope lie in the eight octants and join the appropriate corners of the rectangles. The shape outlined is a regular isocahedron. The acronym IMSc floats at the centre of this shape.
