SRI VENKATESWARA VETERINARY UNIVERSITY Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU), Tirupati was established vide Act No.18, 2005 of Government of Andhra Pradesh with a mandate to strengthen education, research and extension activities in veterinary, dairy and fishery sciences. The predominantly blue colour circular emblem has a blue circular border which bears the name of the university in Telugu and English. Within the circle on a white background motifs of caduceus the staff of Hermes, depicted entwined with a snake and wings and topped by a torch supported by the Thirunamam or Namam and an open book; a waterbody with fish; a grassing field; a cattle; a hen; a microscope and a goat. At the bottom of the emblem on a banner ‘Tirupati’ is written in Telugu and English. The staff of Hermes symbolises medical profession; the Thirunamam represents the holy Tirupati - the land of Lord Venkateswara; the torch symbolises light, path for growth, success, glory and way forward and ot
