SARDAR BEANT SINGH STATE UNIVERSITY Sardar Beant Singh State University (SBSSU), Gurdaspur was established by the Government of Punjab as an autonomous institution through registered society. The foundation stone was laid on February 28,1994 and the college was inaugurated on August 20, 1995 by the Chief Minister Sardar Beant Singh. The emblem of the university has a circular gear wheel outer with red circular outline. The central light colour circle has the motifs of a factory with smoking chimney, a dish antenna, a computer, a mechanical equipment and a banner with the motto in Punjabi ‘ਨਿਸਚੈ ਕਰ ਅਪਨੀ ਜੀਤ ਕਰੋ’ meaning ‘Make Sure You Win’ inscribed on it. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border, which carries the name of the university and its place. SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH STATE UNIVERSITY The Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University (SBSSU) was established by the Government of Punjab in 1995 with the name Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Engineering and Technology as a tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. In the academic year 2011-12, it was upgraded to the status of a technical campus and rechristened as Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur. By an Act of the State Government of Punjab, it was declared as a university on April 1, 2021. The emblem of the university has a portrait of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, placed above the map of the State of Punjab on a motif of globe. These are ensconced by an orange gear wheel which bears the name of the university. Below these on a green banner ‘Ferozepur, Punjab’ is written.
