NANAJI DESHMUKH PASHU CHIKITSA VIGYAN VISHWAVIDYALAYA The emblem of Nanaji Deshmukh Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya (NDVSU) has a blue circular border bearing the name and place of the university inscribed. It houses a white circular border and a light blue circle. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘जीवोः रक्षति रक्षितः’ meaning ‘Life Protects Those Who Protect It’ and its year of inception are written on the white border. On the light blue circle, motifs of Staff of Hermes with a pair of entwined serpents and wings and crested by rising sun; a hen, a tiger, a fish and cattle representing veterinary medicine and science. The sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.

DEVI AHILYA VISHWAVIDYALAYA The circular emblem of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAU) has a hand holding a torch with flame supported by an open book and a pair of laurels with a backdrop of water. The circle holding these motifs are ensconced by a green border, on which its name and motto in Sanskrit ‘धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्’ (Sage Vishwamitra, Mandala 3.12.60, Gayatri Mantra, Rig Veda) meaning ‘May He Enlighten Our Intellect’ are inscribed. The torch with flame an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the laurels denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the open book represents learning, knowledge, education and wisdom; the wavy water represents growth, renewal and transformation and the colour green symbolises agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

MAHATMA PHULE KRISHI VIDYAPEETH The emblem of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV) has three green leaves surmounted by its name and supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘अन्नं बहु कुर्वीत तद् व्रतम्’ (Verse 1, Chapter 9, Bhrigu Valli, Taittiriya Upanishad) meaning ‘Thou Shalt Increase and Amass Food’. These are ensconced by a red circular border created with the motifs 44 humans holding their hands, signifying unity is strength. The leaves represent the agriculture and agriculturist; the leaves denote growth and rebirth; the colour green denotes agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth and the red denotes passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy.

MAHARASHTRA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, AURANGABAD The tricolour emblem of Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad (MNLUA) has the picture of Kailash Temple pillar from Ellora caves located in Aurangabad supported by the swooshes of tricolour within a circle. This is ensconced by a blue and tricolour decorative borders in which its name and place are inscribed. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः’ ( Mahabharata ) meaning ‘Where There is Dharma, There will Be Victory’ is inscribed below the seal.

KRISHNA VISHWA VIDYAPEETH The seal of Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (KVV) is a blue shield white border lines and motifs in white. The shield houses the motifs of a Staff of Hermes with a pair of entwined serpents and wings supported by an open book at the bottom and a pair of laurels on sides. Its acronym and three stars are placed at the bottom. The Staff of Hermes or Caduceus represents medicine and medical profession; the open book denotes learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the laurels denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the three stars denote perfect harmony among all things in life, with its points providing insight into how we can strive towards achieving this goal and the colour blue represents serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty. 

DR. PANJABRAO DESHMUKH KRISHI VIDYAPEETH The green circular seal of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV) has a glowing sun which houses three symmetrically placed leaves holding a crest of wheat, an open book and a microscope; its name and its motto in Sanskrit ‘न समृध्दिः कृषिं विना’ meaning ‘No Prosperity Without Agriculture’. The sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the leaves denote nature and agriculture, the crest and microscope represents the university’s domain of knowledge and the open book denotes education, knowledge, learning and wisdom.

INDUS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY The green and blue emblem of Indus International University (IIU) is a monogram of ‘IIU’. The monogram in green and white is placed in a blue square with its name written at the bottom. The colour green denotes agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth and the colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

IEC UNIVERSITY The red and blue emblem of IEC University (IECU) has a blue shield with red outline supported by a blue cross bearing the motifs of two humans standing on white cross reaching for stars, and a pencil supporting these motifs. At the right its name is written sans serif extra bold with its motto ‘The Knowledge Experts’ and its place. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the blue cross symbolises the humanity of Jesus Christ; aspiring humans reaching for the stars refers to the process of education provided by the university to make them as achievers; the pencil denotes freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty; red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

CHAUDHARY SARWAN KUMAR HIMACHAL PRADESH KRISHI VISHVAVIDYALAYA The circular predominantly green emblem of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV) has a motif of an apple holding the motifs of a pair of plough, head of a cattle, a flowing river, a pine tree, Mount Himalayas with rising sun, a pair of supporting crests of wheat and its name  on a green circular background. Below these, an open book is placed on which its motto is written oa brown banner. Below the spine of the book the year of inception of the university is written. The motifs represent the State of Himachal Pradesh and the domain of agriculture; the open book denotes education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; the colour green denotes agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

BHARTI VISHWAVIDYALAYA The prominently green and pink insignia of Bharti Vishwavidyalaya (BV) has an open book supporting two pairs of rings in yellow and blue. The open book symbolises knowledge, learning, education and wisdom, the green colour of pages of the book denote agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth, the pink pages denote youth, playfulness and good health. The two pairs of rings denote the universe, education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness. 

DR. RAM MANOHAR LOHIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES The emblem of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (DRMLIMS) has a the Satff of Caduceus or the Staff of Hermes with a pair of wings and entwined by serpents, supported by an open book placed on a depiction of one of the university’s buildings in a circle. This circle is ensconced by a blue circular border, which carries its name in Devanagari. At the bottom, on the circular seal on a blue banner, its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वे संतु निरामयाः’ (1.4.14, Inspired from Brihandaranyaka Upanishad, Shukla Yajurved) meaning ‘May Everyone be Healthy’ is inscribed. The Staff represents medicine and the medical profession and the open book denotes education, knowledge, learning and wisdom. The colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

DR RAM MANOHAR LOHIA AWADH UNIVERSITY The emblem of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University (RMLAU) holds the motifs of a rising sun glowing above a flowing body of water circumscribed by its name in Devanagari and motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्योतिषां ज्योतिरेकम्’ (34/1, Yajurved) meaning ‘The Mind is the Only Light of the Senses’. All these are ensconced by a blue circle. The flowing water denotes life, purification, transformation, change and renewal and the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity. 

DR. A.P.J. ABDUL KALAM TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY The circular seal of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) in the form of a brown gear wheel houses the motifs of glowing flame of a traditional lamp supported on side by a pair of fish and surmounted by its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ on a blue circle. This is circumscribed by a green border which carries the name of the university. The wheel of gear denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity and the pair of fish denoting the State of Uttar Pradesh.

ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY The insignia of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU) has a circular seal supported by a blue banner bearing its motto in Sanskrit ‘आरोग्यमेव अटल अमृतम्’ meaning ‘Health is the Ultimate Nectar’. The emblem houses the motifs of the Staff of Caduceus or the Staff of Hermes with a pair of wings and entwined serpents supporting rising sun and supported by an open book at the bottom and a pair of fish on sides on a white circle. The circle is ensconced in a blue border which carries its name in English and Devanagari. The sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the staff denotes medicine and medical profession; the fish represent the State of Uttar Pradesh and the open book denotes education, learning, knowledge and wisdom.

PROF. RAJENDRA SINGH (RAJJU BHAIYA) UNIVERSITY The circular insignia of Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University (PRSU) has motifs of three rivers - Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati flowing and a pair of hands holding a globe of the world, which glows with 24 rays or spokes on a sky blue background. All these motifs are ensconced in a circular border with blue outlines bearing the names of the university and place in English and Devanagari and its motto in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Chapter 4, verse 38 of the Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, There is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’ and its transcription in English. MADHAV UNIVERSITY The emblem of Madhav University (MU) is a monogram has a monogram of its acronym in black and white on an orange background and supported by its name written on a black band in white using sans serif bold condensed typeface. The letter ‘U’ is treated as ‘gopi chandan tilak’ as applied by the devotees of Lord Krishna. The colour orange denotes energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness; the colour brown signifies earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition and the colour black signifies mystery, power, elegance and sophistication.

KERALA UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES The circular emblem of the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) in the yellow ochre and brown has a mother and child held by a supporting palm with a traditional lamp placed at the bottom and circumscribed by its name. These are supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः’ (2.35.51, Garuda Purana) meaning ‘May All be Prosperous, May All be free from infirmities’ and an open book symbolising education, knowledge and wisdom. JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY The brown colour circular seal of the Jadavpur University (JU) has a thirteen petalled lotus holds the motif of a traditional lamp with three flames ensconced in a circular border which carries the name of the university in Bengali and Devanagari. The traditional lamp denotes light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty and the colour brown denotes earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition.  

HINDI UNIVERSITY The blue colour circular emblem of the Hindi University (HU), Howrah has a blue circle which holds the acronyms of the university in Devanagari and English. The seal is very simple, easy to understand and direct. This gives the seal its elegance and effortless communicability.

HARICHAND GURUCHAND UNIVERSITY The blue colour circular emblem of Harichand Guruchand University (HGU) has the monogram of its acronym placed on the motif of an open book surmounted by a mortarboard hat and supported by the numerals of its year of establishment.
