The emblem of the university has an open book with the images of a village with cattle on a background of mountains with rising sun, tractor and its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ are ensconced in a circular border which carries its name in Devanagari and English. The border is surmounted by a portion of a gear wheel and supported by its year of establishment and a pair of laurels of grain heads. The open book symbolises knowledge, wisdom and education; the rising sun denotes light, universal prosperity and path for growth; the other motifs are representing the geography of the land and the laurels represent agriculture, food, ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
