NORTH EAST ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY The North East Adventist University (NEAU) was established by METAS on a 90 acre land of Jowai of Meghalaya, in 2019 under the Meghalaya Act No.4, No. LL(B).23/2015/280. Pr. O.W. Lange, an American Missionary, established the Assam Training School in 1941 at the present location. In 1972, the name was changed to Adventist Training School (ATS). It was upgraded to a higher secondary school in 1997. The insignia of the university is a grey and blue shield with an open book, a tiara, a torch and a motif of three people. The shield is supported by a pair of laurels and surmounted by its motto ‘Education for Eternity’. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom, the tiara symbolises departure from maidenhood into married life and royalty.; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the humans symbolise the stak
