SARDAR PATEL UNIVERSITY The Sardar Patel University is a State private university established through legislation by the Madhya Pradesh Act No. 26 of 2011. The crest of the university is in the form of a shield in red colour with the motifs of an open book in yellow and green colours, a pair of fresh leaves, a shining sun and a cyan and red human like figures supported by its acronym ‘SPU’. On the bottom of the shield on a golden banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानेन प्रकाशते जगतू’ meaning ‘Knowledge Lightens up the World’ is written. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the pair of fresh leaves signifies fertility, hope, growth, abundance and peace; open book denotes knowledge and wisdom; the sun means light, universal prosperity and path for growth; the two joyful humans signify the transformation of students who study in the university and the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and cel
