DAMODARAM SANJIVAYYA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY The emblem of Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU) houses the motifs of Lady Justice (Lustitia) with the attributes of scales, sword and a blindfold; an open book symbolising knowledge, education and wisdom and poorna kumbha denoting fullness and abundant prosperity supported by a pair of laurels symbolising ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication, all placed on a light green circle. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः’ (Udyoga Parva 37.09) meaning ‘Act Dharma Thus Win’ is placed on a green banner below the motifs. This is a famous saying of Vyasa in his Mahabharata. In the first instance, Dhritarashtra told Lord Krishna this while smoothly rejecting his proposal to give the share of land to the Pandavas.
