RAJIV GANDHI UNIVERSITY OF KNOWLEDGE TECHNOLOGY BASAR Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) Basar was established as a university in Andhra Pradesh. In March 2008, the then AP Government created RGUKT by an act of the legislature as a full fledged university which would initially admit approximately the top one percent of the rural students into the three residential campuses located at Basar, Nuzvid. Basar, abode to Gnana Saraswati, located on the banks of holy river Godavari, is near to Nizamabad town. The emblem of the university has a happy human in brown colour to represent the top students from rural backgrounds. The colour brown represents earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition. The motif is vibrant, dynamic and attractive.
