MAHANAGAR TELEPHONE NIGAM LIMITED Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) was set up on April 1, 1986 by the Government of India to upgrade the quality of telecom services, expand the telecom network, introduce new services and to raise revenue for telecom development needs of India’s key metros - Delhi, the political capital and Mumbai, the business capital of India. MTNL has been given Navratna status in 1997 and was listed in New York Stock Exchange in 2001. Its green coloured logo has M, T, N and L depicted in the form of a dialing telephone with buttons. Its tagline is ‘Transparency Makes Us Different’.
