BIRLA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCE, PILANI The Birla Institute of Technology & Science, BITS Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education. The Institute is a dream come true for its founder late Mr G.D. Birla. BITS is located in the Vidya Vihar campus adjacent to the town of Pilani in Rajasthan. Its circular emblem with supporting banners has yellow, orange, red, light blue and dark blue colours. The tricolour circle is divided into three segments of which one has a chemical structure, the other has a lotus and the third one has a rocket superimposed with a designated path. This circle is ensconced in a gear wheel in an orange background. Atop this is the banner with the name of the institution and at the bottom is the slogan in Sanskrit 'ज्ञानं परमं बलम्' meaning ‘Knowledge is Supreme Power’.
