NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY SIKKIM National Institute of Technology Sikkim (NIT Sikkim or NIT SKM) is a public engineering and research institution near the city of Ravangla in Sikkim. The brown colour circular emblem of NITSKM using its acronym ‘NITS’ is a monogram, while ‘N’ and ‘T’ form the ‘pi’ symbol and the ‘i’ with the dot in yellow symbolising an enlightened person or student. The ‘S’ is written with a nice flourish dividing the circle into two halves making it look like ‘yin-yang’. The Yin-Yang or Yin and Yang concept in Chinese culture is complicated, having evolved over thousands of years. This means that the symbol stands for meandering through complex world using solutions form engineering and technology.
