NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR INDIAN SYSTEM OF MEDICINE The pictorial emblem of National commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) has an abstract lotus housing a happy human in yellow, orange, green and cyan colours. Its acronym is placed in it at the bottom. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘आयुषे सर्वलोकानाम्’ meaning ‘The Science of Life’ is written below the motif. The lotus refers to purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the human refers to humanity and the rainbow colours denote the wide range and scope of the system of medicine.
