BINOD BIHARI MAHTO KOYALANCHAL UNIVERSITY The emblem of Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University (BBMKU) has a 34 pointed golden star on which the emblem is designed with three layers. The first and the inner layer houses the motifs a pedestal with a gear wheel denoting industry, industrialisation and production; a diamond representing the coal fields of Dhanbad; a microscope representing science and scientific exploration; a scroll of degree held by a hand representing the result of scholarship, hard work and achievement; a group of indica plants denoting the indigo dye obtained from them and a an open book symbolising learning, knowledge, education and wisdom The second layer is the circular border around the motifs, which bears the names of the university and its place separated by a pair of laurels which denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
