MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH The Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER) is a Deemed to be University incorporating a consortium of institutions in Chennai and Kanchipuram. Under the aegis of MAHER, there are three constituent units at Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu - the Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI), Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) and Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS); one unit at Maduravoyal, Chennai- Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital (MADCH) and Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON) at Mangadu, Chennai providing education in the field of healthcare. The blue colour emblem of the university has a shield with a Caduceus or the Staff of Hermes with a pair of wings and entwined serpents representing medicine and medical profession supported by an open book symbolising education, knowledge and wisdom and on its left side a satellite antenna with a globe representing communication
