5T TRANSFORMATIONAL INITIATIVES The blue and green logo of the 5T Transformational Initiatives (5T) of Government of Odisha is a simple monogram of ‘5T’ and its five objectives ‘Transparency Technology Teamwork Time Transformation’, placed alongside. The colours blue and green are earthy and natural and is easily relatable. Also the colour green symbolises agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

C. V. RAMAN GLOBAL UNIVERSITY

C. V. RAMAN GLOBAL UNIVERSITY C. V. Raman Global University, Odisha was established through the Odisha Act 01 of 2020. CGU, Odisha started as a degree level engineering college named as C.V. Raman College of Engineering (CVRCE) in the year 1997. Its circular emblem in grey, red and white is simple, clean and crisp. In the middle of the circle, a shield with a book, pen and a traditional lamp is placed. This is surrounded by a banner with the name of the university. Below the shield, the name of the State is inscribed. At the bottom of the circle in a banner the year of the establishment of the University is written.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ROURKELA

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ROURKELA NIT Rourkela is one of the premier national level institutions for technical education in the country and is funded by the Government of India. The Government of India has elevated the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela to a deemed university under the name of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. The emblem of NITR has a nine toothed gear wheel which houses a torch, compass, set square and a flash of lightning. This is supported by a semicircular banner at the bottom, with its name and a horizontal banner below that with the name of the place.

XIM UNIVERSITY

XIM UNIVERSITY In October 1987 Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) was established. It grew into an university and Xavier University was established on July 6, 2013 as per the provisions of the Xavier University, Odisha Act, 2013. On May 11, 2021, the Xavier University, Odisha (Amendment) Act 2021 was passed in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, renaming Xavier University as XIM University. Its emblem is a four pointed white cross (adopted from San Damiano Cross) in light blue background with its four counters hosting an open book, globe held by a hand, burning lamp and group of students linked by a circle. In the centre of this assemblage is another cross. This is ensconced by a circle with pointers on eight sides. A white border with black outline has ‘XIM UNIVERSITY’ and ‘Semper Excelsius’ written on top and bottom and supported on either side by a light blue coloured laurel.

It promises to take engagement to the next level with a wide range of activities and events.” The logo has a motif created with the letter ‘O’, depicting the crown of Lord Jangannath in red and black - the colours of the Lord. ODISHA POLICE

ODISHA POLICE The state of Orissa  and the Orissa Police were born April 1st, 1936. The new state was formed by taking portions of Madras presidency and Central province. The new province constituted of six districts. In the ancient state of Kalinga ‘Atabika’ police were employed to control civic unrest. During those days the police officials were known as ‘Rakshimaa’. During the medieval period rulers like Ananga Bhim Dev, Pratap Rudra Dev, Mukunda Dev etc., used ‘Danda Paikas’ for policing and during the Moghul period the police administration was under the charge of ‘Kotwal’. When the Orissa Police was formed it comprised of 4000 policemen approximately of all ranks taken together. E. A. O. Perkin was the first Inspector General of Orissa Police and I. C. Mcnally was the first Assistant Inspector General. of Police who was also in-charge of the Criminal Investigation Department. EMBLEM OF ODISHA

EMBLEM OF ODISHA The state emblem of Odisha incorporates a horse which is about to be mounted by a rider. This is a reproduction of a sculpture found in the famous Sun Temple of Konark in the eastern sea coast of Odisha. This has been adapted as a state emblem by Government of Orissa. Home Department resolution dated the third August 1964 through order Number 20634-IE.-1/64-Pol. The order says “The question of adopting a separate State Emblem for this State in place of Ashoka Pillar’ was under consideration of Government. On the advice of the Sub-committee appointed by the Council of Ministers it was decided to adopt the design of the ‘Konark Horse’ symbolizing discipline, strength and progress as the State Emblem”.
