BANK OF INDIA Bank of India (BoI) was founded on September 7, 1906 by a group of eminent businessmen from Mumbai. The bank was under private ownership and control till July 1969 when it was nationalised along with thirteen other banks. The logo of the bank has a blue band and an orange toned five pointed star. The name of the bank is written on the band using sans serif bold capitals and lowercase. The vertical stroke of the star is longer than the other four with its centres forming a pentagon by the shading of the strokes of the star. Another blue pentagon is juxtaposed inside the pentagon, which has a circle in it. The circle holds a standing goddess-like figure holding a trident and a lion seated behind her, with her left hand on the lion’s head. The colour blue denotes trust and friendliness and the tones of orange suggest power, strength and security. These are reinforced by the star, goddess, trident and lion.
