ALL INDIA TRINAMOOL CONGRESS Mamata Banerjee had carried out numerous movements in the interest of the people over a period of time, she was realising that to take her movement ahead, she needed a separate platform to raise her voice against the rule of the CPI(M). The party name and election symbol represents 'grassroots' - the name contains the Bengali word trinamool, which literally means grassroots, and the symbol is a sapling emerging from the ground.
