UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Raichur is a university exclusively dedicated to the study and research of agricultural sciences established by the Government of Karnataka at Raichur district through the University of Agricultural Sciences Act, 2009. The emblem of UAS has a rising sun in yellow with a tractor in it. It is supported in the centre by an open book on which a Kannada slogan is written on it, on the left by an ear of corn and on the right by a sunflower. Below the book its year of establishment is written. All these are ensconced in a circle with black border line. Its name in Kannada and English are written around the circle in blue. Two green colour laurels surround all these. All these are placed on a base, which bears its motto in Kannada ‘ಹಸಿರೇ ಉಸಿರು’ meaning ‘Green is Life’ is written. UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES DHARWAD The University of Agricultural Sciences Dharwad (UASD) was established on October 1, 1986. The emblem of the university has a bullock and an ear of corn with stock stand in front of a rising sun with rays. This is supported by a red banner which is bearing its motto in Kannada ‘ಕೋಟಿ ವಿದ್ಯೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಟಿ ವಿದ್ಯೆಯೇ ಮೇಲು’ meaning ‘Education of Tilling is the best among Crores of Education’. Below this an open book, a traditional lamp and a microscope is placed. All are ensconced in a blue circular border which has the name of the university inscribed in Kannada and English. Sun, cattle, corn and microscope are from the domain of agriculture and agricultural research. The open book denotes knowledge and wisdom and the traditional lamp represents light, path for growth and way forward.
