INDIAN COMPUTER EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) operates under the auspices of and with authority delegated by the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India vide notification published in Para-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Dated October 27, 2009. The purpose of the CERT-In is to become the nation’s most trusted referral agency of the Indian community for responding to computer security incidents as and when they occur; the CERT-In will also assist members of the Indian community in implementing proactive measures to reduce the risks of computer security incidents. It has its acronym in lowercase letters written in blue. While the ‘cert’ is straight, the ‘in’ is in reverse. Following this is a symbol depicting secured global connectivity.
