SRI BALAJI VIDYAPEETH Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) is a ‘Deemed to be University’ was established under section 3 of UGC Act 1956 by the then Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India Vide notification No. F.9 -53/2005 – U.3 dated August 4, 2008. The yellow, orange, blue and black emblem of the university has a shield crested by traditional ‘vimanam’ of a temple which is inspired by spirituality supported by a scroll bearing its name. The shield holds motifs of Caduceus the Staff of Hermes with a pair of entwined snakes and wings denotes medicine and medical profession; a rising sun for shining welfare for all; a segment of a gear wheel signifying diligent labour; an open book denoting research and knowledge and a traditional lamp signifying light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
