POLICE PUBLIC SCHOOL, MYSORE The circular emblem of the Police Public School, Mysore (PPSM) has an open book supporting the state emblem of the State of Karnataka and supported by a pair of hands shaking. The hands are supposed to be that of the police and the public. Below the open book the motto of the school in Kannada ‘ವಿದ್ಯಯಾ ವಿಂದತೇ ಅಮೃತಮ್’ and Sanskrit ‘;विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ are written. These motifs are ensconced by a red circular border, on which the name of the school and the name of its management. The open book symbolises learning, education, knowledge and wisdom.

ST. FRANCIS SCHOOL, MYSORE The predominantly red and yellow circular emblem of the St. Francis School, Mysore has an open book supported by a traditional lamp held by a pair of hands and a cross and surmounted by its motto 'Love Knowledge Light'. The circular motif is supported by an arching banner, on which its name and address are mentioned. All these are ensconced by a thick red circular border. The book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the cross represents the institution’s religious affiliation and the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

MYSORE The brand logo of Mysuru city also called Mysore has two caparisoned elephants alongside the mythical bird ‘Gandabherunda’, the emblem of the former Mysuru Kingdom in the colours of Red, Grey and golden yellow. Its tagline is ‘Our Heritage Your Destination’ is written in Kannada and English. The colours and elements used give the logo a joyful royal look and feel.

KARNATAKA SOAPS AND DETERGENTS LIMITED Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL) is an Indian company, owned by the Government of Karnataka, that manufacturers personal care products including Mysore Sandal Soap. The Government Sandalwood Oil factory was established by the Maharaja of Mysore Nalwadi Krishna Raja Wodeyar and Diwan Sir M. Vishweshwaraiah in the year 1916 at Mysore, to extract sandalwood oil from sandalwood. The high quality sandalwood oil with British Pharmacopoeia was introduced to the world by the Government Soap Factory, Mysore. With the idea of utilizing the available natural sandalwood oil for making soap in the home State of Mysore. Sri S.G. Shastri, who was a qualified industrial chemist, was sent to London for an advanced training on soap and perfumery technology. Sri S.G. UNIVERSITY OF MYSORE

UNIVERSITY OF MYSORE The University of Mysore was established on July 27, 1916. It is the sixth oldest in the country and the first in the state of Karnataka. Also, in a sense it is the first university of the country to be established outside the limits of British India. The university was founded as a result of the efforts of the benevolent and visionary Maharaja of erstwhile Princely State of Mysore His Highness Shri Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar – IV (1884-1940) and the then Diwan Sir M. Visvesvaraya (1860-1962). The University emblem is adapted from the Royal Emblem of Mysore. It depicts the bird Gandabherunda flanked on either side by the lion-elephant Sharabha (mythical creature believed to be stronger than the lion and the elephant, and upholder of righteousness), surmounted by a lion. SARADA VILAS COLLEGE

SARADA VILAS COLLEGE Sarada Vilas College, located in the heart of the city of Mysore, was established in the year 1945 as an Intermediate college. Seven years later, it was upgraded as a Degree college. The college, affiliated to the University of Mysore. Its oval shaped emblem has Goddess Saraswathi ensconced in a border on which ‘SARDA VILAS COLLEGE’ and ‘Education Kindles Knowledge’ are written in red colour. It has a pair of lamps as separators.
