DHARMASHASTRA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY The blue and gold emblem of Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU) has a blue wheel on which its name and place are inscribed. It houses the motifs of sun with 24 spokes, in which a two-pan beam balance, the arch of Sanchi Stupa and the constitution of India. On a white banner with blue outlines its motto in Sanskrit ‘सत्यं वद, धर्मं चर’ (11.1, Shikshavalli, Taittiriya Upanishad) meaning ‘Speak the Truth, Walk the Righteousness’. The sun symbolises the two-pan beam balance represents justice and fairness; the arch represents the State of Madhya Pradesh and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
