VISVESVARAYA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) was established by the Government of Karnataka on April 1, 1998 with its headquarters at Belagavi, as per the provisions of the Visvesvaraya Technological University Act, 1994. The green and orange circular emblem of the university has the motifs of the map of the State of Karnataka, a portrait of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, a computer, a pulley, a pair of gears and a structure placed on a green circle. It is ensconced by an orange circular border which carries its name in Kannada and English. A tricolour wavy banner is placed at the bottom of the emblem. A traditional lamp is placed atop the logo supported by its motto in Kannada ‘ಮೊದಲ ಮಾನವನಾಗು’ meaning ‘Become a  Human First’ is placed below the traditional lamp. VIDYAVARDHAKA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS) was established in 1949 by Late Sahukar Channaiah and Late K. Puttaswamy to impart quality education to all sections of the society. There are ten educational institutions starting from nursery to engineering college under the aegis of VVS. Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) is one of the prestigious engineering colleges in Karnataka. Established in 1997. VVCE is an autonomous institute affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. Its emblem is a gearwheel with sixteen teeth in a dark violet colour encompassing a yellow border and a light green circle. The border carries the name of the college. The light green circle has a magnetic circuit, a manufacturing plant, a satellite, a dish antenna and a transmission tower, a tree, a bridge, a computer and a flask. This covers all the major areas of learning in the college. Its acronym is placed below the emblem.

AIRCRAFT AND SYSTEMS TESTING ESTABLISHMENT In 1972, Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) first started training pilots of the Indian Air Force for production testing. Three years later, senior ASTE officers visited ETPS and studied its training methods. These were eventually used to start a course for experimental test flying in 1976. The IAF Test Pilots School, co-located with ASTE at Bangalore, conducts Experimental Flight Test Course (11 months ) for Test Pilots (TP) and Flight Test Engineers (FTE) from the Air Force, Naval Aviation and Army Aviation. The school is one among the eight recognized test pilots school in the world to impart flight test training. There are two streams for training - Rotary Wing and Fixed Wing. Hence, there are four entry streams - RW TP, RW FTE, FW TP and FW FTE. The FTEs have two sub-streams - FTE and FTE (Avionics). MANGALORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING

MANGALORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE) was established in the year 2007. It is offering ten Undergraduate programmes in engineering, three Postgraduate programmes in engineering, business administration computer applications and seven research programmes. It has an interesting emblem in orange and blue colours. A hexagonal box simulating a cell of a beehive, from which a butterfly breaks through, means that the young minds after their education in this institute shall emerge out as colourful and vibrant butterflies benefitting the open world. This is topped by its acronym and its tagline ‘Invent Solutions’ is placed at the bottom.
