NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MEGHALAYA The National Institute of Technology Meghalaya (NITM) is one among the thirty-one NITs in India established under the NIT Act 2007 (Amended 2012) of the Parliament of India as Institutes of National Importance. Its logo consists of a gear wheel, abstract of an atom with the orbit of an electron and an earthen lamp at the centre. Red earthen lamp is a symbol of light in yellow colour. Light symbolises knowledge and darkness represents ignorance. The Lord is the ‘Knowledge Principle’ (Chaitanya) who is the source, the enlivener and the illuminator of all knowledge. Wheel is derived out of a circle. Meaning of the symbol circle is universal, sacred and divine. It represents the infinite nature of energy, and the inclusivity of the universe. NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MIZORAM

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MIZORAM National Institute of Technology Mizoram (NITM) was started in the year 2010. The circular emblem in the form of green to yellow tones of this institute has a book form in which glowing light emanates, throwing up a host of scientific and mathematical symbols. An illustration of atomic structure is placed on this. This is supported on both sides by a pair of bamboo plants. At the bottom of these its tagline ‘Knowledge is the Ultimate Goal’ and ‘NIT Mizoram’ are written. The circular white border bears the name of the institute in Devanagari and English.
