CENTRAL SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY The Central Sanskrit University has the unique distinction of being the largest and the only multi-campus language university in the world. The Sansthan was established on October 15, 1970 as an autonomous organisation registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. On March 16, 2020 Parliament of India passed the Central Sanskrit Universities Act 2020 through which Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan and two of its former campuses (later Deemed Universities) were established as Central Sanskrit Universities. The sansthan’s logo comprises a square, surrounded by three red, white and black pillars – symbolising the three natures of the universe, namely, satva, rajas and tamas. Within the black square, the red and white squares indicate the pure and royal nature of the Sansthan. The motto on the top - ‘योऽनूचानः स नो महान्’ – symbolises all the branches of vaidic learning.
