ASSAM GRAMIN VIKASH BANK In Assam altogether five RRBs were opened at different points of time beginning with Pragjyotish Gaonlia Bank. On January 12, 2006 the Government of India amalgamated the four Regional Rural Banks sponsored by the United Bank of India to form Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGVB). The logo of the bank has a red square with a big ‘A’ written like an upward moving object, with its horizontal stroke is a green arrow swoosh from left to right. This is supported by its acronym in blue sans serif font. As a composite the motif looks like the tip of a rocket. A rocket is a powerful symbol of exploration, progress and hope. It represents the human desire to reach out and explore the unknown, to push the boundaries of what is possible. Rockets also represent the power of science and technology and the potential for human ingenuity to solve problems and create a better future.
