NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MANIPUR National Institute of Technology Manipur (NIT Manipur) started its first session on August 2, 2010 with three branches of engineering namely - electrical engineering, electronics & communication engineering and computer science & engineering at Government Polytechnic, Takyelpat Campus. Its insignia in red, orange, brown and blue colours has a wheel hoe in blue colour containing a white border having its name written in Devanagari and English. In a circle inside this, a few books and a mortarboard hat supports a glowing sun with spreading rays.
