THE RAJIV GANDHI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LAW The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006). The emblem of the university has a map of India on a blue background forming the backdrop for the two-pan beam balance weighing scale depicting the traditional symbol of judiciary wielded by the statue of Lady Justice. These are ensconced by two circular borders in black and white. The black border carries the name of the university and the white border has a laurel on each side and is topped by five stars. This emblem has a golden banner which carries the acronym of its name and below that the name of its place. At the bottom, on a black rectangular patch, its motto ‘Knowledge Empowers’ is written.
