KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY The emblem of Kurukshetra University (KUK) has a circle with cyan outline houses the motifs of flowing water, rising red sun and blooming lotus. These are ensconced by a white border with cyan outlines which carries its name in Devanagari and English separated by a pair of laurels. Below the circular seal, on a white banner, the university’s motto in Sanskrit ‘योगस्थः कुरु कर्माणि’ (Shloka 48, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita)meaning ‘Perform All thy Actions with Mind Concentrated on the Divine’ is inscribed. The rising sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the flowing water represents growth, renewal and transformation; the lotuses denote purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the laurels symbolise ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
