REVA UNIVERSITY Established in 2012, Reva University (RU) is a forerunner in delivering technology based education. The logo of the university depicts ‘Srivatsa’ or ‘the endless knot’ in orange colour. The Srivatsa has rich significance in the religions of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. It represents the interplay of opposite forces in the world and a final merging of the dual, leading to harmony. It binds and connects all the stakeholders - the teacher and the learner at one level and at another level connects the individual units of the institution to make it a harmonious whole. The ‘endless knot’ signifies the continuous process of learning. In the Tibetan branch of Buddhism, the endless knot signifies both wisdom and compassion which are essential in making the teaching-learning process meaningful and productive. SRIVATSA Srivatsain Sanskrit, The endless knot is a closed, graphic ornament composed of right-angled, intertwined lines. This image signifies the dramatic interplay and interaction of the opposing forces in the dualistic world of manifestation, leading to their union and ultimately to harmony in the universe. This fact is amply reflected in the symmetrical and regular form of the endless knot. It represents the inter rlatedness and interconnection of: Wisdom and compassion, The mutual dependence of religious doctrine and secular affairs, The union of wisdom and method, The inseparability of emptiness and Dependent Co-arising, The union of wisdom and great compassion and The linking of ancestors and omnipresence and the magical ritual and meta-process of binding.
