INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MASS COMMUNICATIONS Inaugurated on August 17, 1965, by the then Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Smt. Indira Gandhi, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) started with a small staff, including two consultants from UNESCO. In 1969, a major international training programme, the Post-graduate Diploma Course in Journalism for Developing Countries, for middle level working journalists from Afro-Asian countries, was started. IIMC has regional centres in Dhenkanal, Aizawl, Amaravati, Jammu & Kashmir and Kottayam. Its emblem was revised to include the tagline in January 2022. The revised logo carries the tagline ‘आ नो भद्रा: क्रतवो यन्तु विश्वत:’ along with the name of IIMC, which means ‘Let Noble Thoughts Come to Me From All Directions'. The pictorial has a motif which shows a set of blue colour lines depicting different waves (sound, light, etc.) in four sets placed in four positions in a circle.

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT CALCUTTA The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) was established as the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management by the Government of India in November 1961 in collaboration with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the Government of West Bengal, The Ford Foundation and Indian industry. The emblem of IIMC contains a twenty four petal lotus in the centre.
