INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MASS COMMUNICATIONS Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) was inaugurated on August 17, 1965. In 1969, a major international training programme, the Post-graduate Diploma Course in Journalism for Developing Countries, for middle level working journalists from Afro-Asian countries, was started. IIMC has regional centres in Dhenkanal, Aizawl, Amaravati, Jammu & Kashmir and Kottayam. Its emblem was revised to include the tagline in January 2022. The revised logo carries the tagline ‘आ नो भद्रा: क्रतवो यन्तु विश्वत:’ along with the name of IIMC, which means ‘Let Noble Thoughts Come to Me From All Directions'. The pictorial has a motif which shows a set of blue colour lines depicting different waves (sound, light, etc.) in four sets placed in four positions in a circle.

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT CALCUTTA The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) was established as the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management by the Government of India in November 1961 in collaboration with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the Government of West Bengal, The Ford Foundation and Indian industry. The brown colour emblem of IIMC contains a twenty four petal lotus in the centre. In Hinduism, it is said that gods and goddesses sat on lotus thrones. A Buddhist story states that the Buddha appeared atop a floating lotus, and his first footsteps on earth left lotus blossoms. For Buddhist practitioners, a white lotus symbolizes purity, whereas a yellow lotus is associated with spiritual ascension. The lotus has a life cycle unlike any other plant.
