MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY The emblem of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Yellareddyugudem, Nalgonda features the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam ensconced by a gear wheel. This is circumscribed by a cyan circular border with traditional designs. The name of the university is written around the border in Telugu, Devanagari and Urdu. Another blue and orange border circle bears the name of the university in English. These are surmounted by Ashoka Chakra and supported by a pair of peacocks. Below the circular motif a white banner carries its motto in Telugu ‘సా విద్యా యా విముక్తయే’ (Rishi Parāśara, 1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa) meaning ‘Knowledge  is one that Liberates’. The banner is supported by a pair of corns. Above the banner and at the bottom of the circular seal a Poorna Kumbha is placed. MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY The seal of the Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) in Mahishadal, Purba Medinipur has the acronym of its name ‘MGU’ written in experimental typeface and ensconced by a circular border with black outlines, in which its name, place and year of establishment are inscribed.

MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) was established through Meghalaya State legislative Act, 2010 (Meghalaya Act No.6 of 2011) and published in the Gazette of Meghalaya. The emblem of the university has a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi and its acronym written in black on an orange band. The colour orange symbolises energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.
