Logos of India

INSTITUTE OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc) had three major subject disciplines Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. These areas are interlinked and yet separate. It is based on the idea that the Borromean rings present such a relationship between three entities. The logo defines it using three golden rectangles. Eight equilateral triangles made as a rope lie in the eight octants and join the appropriate corners of the rectangles. The shape outlined is a regular isocahedron. The acronym IMSc floats at the centre of this shape.
