PT. DEENDAYAL UPADHYAY MEMORIAL AYUSH AND HEALTH SCIENCES UNIVERSITY OF CHHATTISGARH The emblem of the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Ayush and Health Sciences University of Chhattisgarh (CGHU) has a Staff of Caduceus with an entwined snake symbolising medicine and medical profession placed on a ‘kalas’ and supported by a tooth and fresh shoots of a plant on sides and its year of inception at the bottom. These are ensconced by a circular border on which the name of the university is inscribed. The outline of the circle is depicted as a sun. Below the circular seal, on a banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानेन लभतां लोक आयुरारोग्य सम्पदः’ meaning ‘May the World Attain Long Life, Health and Wealth by Knowledge’ is inscribed. The tooth and the plant denote life sciences and biology; the kalas symbolises wholesome fulfilment and the sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
