NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ANDHRA PRADESH National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh (NIT AP) is the thirty-first institution among the chain of NITs started by the Government of India. NIT Andhra Pradesh was established in the state of Andhra Pradesh recently in the academic year 2015-2016. Its circular emblem has a ‘Poorna Kumbham’ or ‘Kalasha’ which means ‘Full or Complete Vessel’ when the pot is referred to as the Kalasha. The Purna-Kalasha is considered a symbol of abundance and 'Source of Life' in the Vedas. Purna-Kumbha is a Vedic motif, known from the time of Rigveda. It is held above the lotus, which is supported by a book and a pair of laurels of cereal on both the sides. These are ensconced in a circle, which is closed by a circular gear wheel, on which the name of the institute in Hindi and English and its tagline ‘श्रमेव जयते’ meaning ‘Hard Work Triumphs’ are written.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY SILCHAR In the late fifties, the Government of India decided to establish Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) under the Quality Technical Education Policy. The Regional Engineering College Silchar has been transformed and upgraded to National Institute of Technology Silchar with the status of Deemed University on June 28, 2002. Its emblem has a blue circle in the centre meaning the centre of focus surrounded by seven petals of lotus representing seven states of Northeast India in a circular form. This is supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘तेजस्वी नवधीतमस्तु’ meaning ‘Let our Study be Enlightening’. These are ensconced by its name written around in the form of a circle in Hindi and English.
