ICAR-CENTRAL AVIAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE The inverted egg shaped emblem of ICAR-Central Avian Research Institute (CARI) has a cock with wings spread as the motif placed on a pedestal, which is supported by the ears of wheat. These are ensconced by borders of yellow and light blue with black outlines which carry the name and place of the Institute in English and Devanagari respectively. Below the egg pictorial on a banner the motto of the Institute in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ is inscribed along with its year of inception.
