MODY UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY The insignia of Mody University of Science and Technology (MUST) has a gear wheel houses a circular border which is inscribed with its name and place. Inside the border on the circle there are motifs of a swan and a veena supported by an open book. Below the gear wheel, on a banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘तेजस्विनावधीतमस्तु’ (Dialogue between Nachiketa and Yamacharya, 19, Canto 3, Part 3, Katha Upanishad, Krishna Yajur Veda) meaning ‘May our Study be Vigorous and Effective’. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the veena and swan are associated with Goddess Saraswati, the God of Learning and the open book symbolises learning, knowledge, education and wisdom.
