SRI KRISHNADEVARAYA UNIVERSITY Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ananthapuramu, had its beginning as a Postgraduate Centre of Sri Venkateswara University in the year 1967-68. It was conferred the status of an affiliating University in the year 1988. The insignia of the university is a shield crested by the Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Maha Vishnu. The shield is divided into four parts in green white, orange and blue denoting the tricolour of the national flag. The bigger blue portion has the motif of the stone chariot of Hampi, representing the beauty and the artistic perfection of Krishnadevaraya's empire.
