ALL INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES KALYANI All India Institute of Medical Sciences Kalyani (AIIMS Kalyani) was officially approved, under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), by the Union Cabinet on October 7, 2015. Its circular insignia has black and purple details in a white background. There are two black circles forming a border and banner which carries its name in Devanagari and English; a pair of laurels rice paddy and its year of founding. The inner circle holds a set of motifs representing Bengal. The motifs include, the Hooghly river, a distributary of river Ganges which flows across West Bengal is represented by the waves beneath the bridge symbolising vitality; the abundance fish in the rivers of Bengal also forming a staple food for the people of the State represents vitalityand resources; Sanskrit ‘स्वास्थ्यं सर्वार्थसाधनम्’ means ‘Everything can be achieved with Good Health’; the Rod of Asclepius ends as roots depicting the mangrov...
