VEER BAHADUR SINGH PURVANCHAL UNIVERSITY Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, commonly known as VBSPU, is a State university located in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 1987 and is named after the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Veer Bahadur Singh. The predominantly pink and yellow circular emblem of the university holds the motifs of a water with lotus in the middle supported by a pair of fish, year of establishment (1987) and crested by rising sun in Orange. The circular pink border with yellow outline bears its motto and its name in Devanagri separated by a pair of twigs. The Sanskrit motto ‘तेजस्विनावधितमस्तु’ (Shanti Mantra, Taittriya Upanishad) meaning ‘May the Study of Both of us be Brilliant’.
