These are ensconced by a blue circular border , which is inscribed with its name and place. Its motto in Kannada ‘ತಮಸೋ ಮಾ ಜ್ಯೋತಿರ್ ಗಮಯ’ meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ surmounts the lamp and its tagline ‘ನಿರಂತರ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಪ್ರಸಾರ’ meaning ‘Continuous Knowledge Dissemination’ support its name on the banner. The traditional lamp refers to light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
