SHRI MATA VAISHNO DEVI UNIVERSITY Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has been established under The Jammu and Kashmir Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Act, 1999, of the Jammu and Kashmir as an autonomous, technical and fully residential university. It is funded by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. The design of the logo looks like a lotus, a symbol of regeneration or a flame. It also looks like 'ॐ' or ‘Om’, the supreme word. The three green bars represent three holy peaks of Trikuta Hills and the three 'pindies' in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. The sun, the giver of light, warmth, time, direction, life force, energy, power, radiance and enlightenment have been surrounded by radiating rays going out to nine planets of the solar system. The English version of ‘विज्ञानं ब्रह्म’, the motto is ‘God is Science’. Brahma has been defined as something or someone who nourishes the universe and makes it grow.

NATIONAL BOARD OF ACCREDITATION The National Board of Accreditation (NBA), was initially established by the AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) under section 10(u) of AICTE Act, in the year 1994, in order to assess the qualitative competence of the programs offered by educational institution from diploma level to postgraduate level in engineering and technology, management, pharmacy, architecture and related disciplines, which are approved by AICTE. NBA came into existence as an independent autonomous body with effect from January 7, 2010 with the objectives of assurance of quality and relevance to technical education, especially of the programs in professional and technical disciplines, i.e., engineering and technology, management, architecture, pharmacy and hotel management and catering technology, through the mechanism of accreditation of programs offered by technical institutions. MANGALORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE) was established in the year 2007. It is offering ten Undergraduate programmes in engineering, three Postgraduate programmes in engineering, business administration computer applications and seven research programmes. It has an interesting emblem in orange and blue colours. A hexagonal box simulating a cell of a beehive, from which a butterfly breaks through, means that the young minds after their education in this institute shall emerge out as colourful and vibrant butterflies benefitting the open world. This is topped by its acronym and its tagline ‘Invent Solutions’ is placed at the bottom.
