MAHAKAUSHAL UNIVERSITY The orange and black rectangle emblem of Mahakaushal University (MKU) has its acronym written in extra bold sans serif typeface with black shadow. The name of the university written below this on white. On a white band the place of the university is written. The colour orange symbolises energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness and the colour black denotes mystery, power, elegance and sophistication.  

MADURAI KAMARAJ UNIVERSITY Established in 1966, Madurai Kamaraj University as a State University. The coat of arms of the university is a blue shield supported by a red banner on which its motto in Tamil ‘மெய்ப்பொருள் காண்பதறிவு’ which mean ‘To Seek Truth is Knowledge’. The shield is divided into eight parts and they carry different motifs. The Gopuram of Pandya dynasty is placed in the top middle; burning traditional lamp on its left and an open book on its right; In the middle a pink lotus supported on either side by an elephant and a rocket and a pair of fish at the bottom. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the gopuram symbolises the architectural heritage of the ancient city of Madurai; the lamp denotes symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book symbolises knowledge, education and wisdom; the lotus denotes purity and clarity; the elephant symbolises tradition; the roc
