LADY HARDINGE MEDICAL COLLEGE The seal of Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) is in the form of a decorated pennant with the motif of a Greek Warrior and its motto in Latin ‘Per Ardua ad Astra’ (Selected by Colonel Sykes) meaning ‘Through Struggle to the Stars’. Its name is written below the pennant and the acronym surmounts the motif. The Greek warrior denotes healing, eternity and the valour and the pennant denotes championship and victory.
