STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LIMITED Owned and operated by the Government of India, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is a state-owned steel making company based in New Delhi, India. The public sector undertaking was incorporated on January 24, 1974 and is the twentieth largest steel producer in the world and the third largest in India. The organisation owns five integrated steel plants at Bhilai, Rourkela, Durgapur, Bokaro and Burnpur (Asansol) and three special steel plants at Salem, Durgapur and Bhadravathi.The SAIL logo is an abstract mark in blue colour, which is followed by the name in Devanagari and English. The symbol using the triangular form with an upward direction indicates growth and development of the steel industry. The solid rhombus used enclosed within the triangle, stands to infuse high level technical and managerial expertise. The logo has a ladle pouring molten steel held by its tilting arms.
