RECKITT BENCKISER (INDIA) LTD Mortein from Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd. dates back to the 1870s when J. Hagemann, a German immigrant to Australia, became fed up with our menagerie of insects. He used crushed chrysanthemum flowers to produce a pyrethrum extract and created an insecticidal powder. The name is a combination of the French word mort (dead) and the German ein (one). Dead one? Nice one! Mortein India was launched in 1993 and the range initially included coils, mats and aerosols. Electrical vapourisers were launched in 1999 and Rat Kill in 2000. Mortein’s Insta range aims at providing instant protection against mosquitoes who cause diseases like Malaria and Dengue. Its logo has Mortein written in white sans serif bold caps and lowercase with black border and placed above a strong red stroke of power, shaped like a lightning.
