NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DESIGN ASSAM The National Institute of Design Jorhat (NIDJ), Assam is an autonomous Institution of National Importance under Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Governmnet of India established at Jorhat through the NID (Amendment) Act, 2019 passed by the Parliament of India. The Institute commenced its academic session from July 29, 2019. Its logo in black, grey and red has its acronym NIDJ in sans serif, is asymmetrically crested by a traditional ‘gamcha’ or sari of Assam, an empathic statement of its geography. This emblem is minimalistic, simple, easy to remember and the flouting cloth kindles the imagination of creativity.
