HARISH-CHANDRA RESEARCH INSTITUTE The yellow, red, green and blue circular seal of Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HCRI) has a monogram of ‘HRI’ with a red dot supported by a tree placed upside down with branches bearing green leaves and greek letters and surmounted by its motto in Sanskrit ‘विज्ञान ज्ञान सहितम्’ (Shloka 1, Chapter 9, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Experience Combined with Knowledge’. The yellow circle is ensconced by a blue border with red outlines, which carries the name and place of the Institute. The inverse tree is the tree of knowledge which supports and make HCRI function as a premier institution under Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
