JAGAN NATH UNIVERSITY The emblem of Jagan Nath University (JNU) has a blue and cyan shield holding a bright yellow sun, below which its name is written in a fine typeface. The angular stroke of the first ‘N’ has been treated as an interesting swoosh giving uniqueness and grace to this insignia. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

JODHPUR NATIONAL UNIVERSITY The emblem of Jodhpur National University (JNU) has a glowing sun placed on a reddish brown circle houses a 12 petalled lotus, in which a traditional lamp supported by an open book is placed. The circle in between the lotus and the sun, the name of the university is written in Devanagari and English. The sun symbolises life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the lotus symbolises purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book symbolises learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the colour orange symbolises energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness and reddish brown symbolises strength, dependability and warmth.

JAIPUR NATIONAL UNIVERSITY The emblem of Jaipur National University (JNU) has a shield in tones of orange housing the motifs of a sun and a book. The shield is supported by the university’s motto in Sanskrit ‘गुणस्याभरणं ज्ञानं’ meaning ‘Knowledge Adorns Good Qualities’ and a pair of laurels. Below these, on a golden yellow banner the name of the university is written. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the sun symbolises life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the open book symbolises knowledge, learning, education and wisdom; the laurels symbolise ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication and the colour orange denotes energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.

JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was established in 1966 under the JNU Act, 1966 (53 of 1966). The university’s emblem is inspired by the rose bud, which is associated with Nehru and created using its acronym. The overlapping of circular strokes depicts a traditional Indian lamp and interaction with global knowledge. Lamp and globe symbolises universality, enlightenment, growth and human interaction. Its acronym in Devanagari and English are placed below the flame.
